Discovery Bay is located in the Delta part of the East Bay, 60 miles from the San Francisco Bay Area. It is one of the unincorporated areas in the Delta. It has a special district that provides services that are usually provided by the county. It began as a planned community in 1964, built as a water-front community on man-made dikes surrounded by freshwater, except for the southeast area, which is covered by the golf course of Discovery Bay Country Club.
This town boasts beautiful homes with private docks that access to the Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta, two shopping centers, cafes, indoor, outdoor, and water-front dining, salons, and much more! It is known to be the get-away, staycation haven for many affluent families from the surrounding and outside areas.
The city holds numerous events that constantly bring the community together. From summer outdoor live concerts to boat lights parade in the Delta during the holidays, there is an event for the young and you-at-heart to enjoy all-year-round!
